CHAINED BEASTS BATTLE TIPS
How to farm, evolve and fight like someone who has broken every chain in the game
⛓️ CHAIN FRAGMENT ECONOMY
Chain fragments are the only currency that matters. Defeated enemies drop them, and 100 fragments unlock a new evolution. Every choice in this section is really a question about whether you want that evolution soon or later.
| Source | Fragment Value | Reliability | Best Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular enemies | Low, per kill | High, many sources | Steady top-ups between bosses |
| Elite guards | Medium | Medium | Bridging the last 30 fragments before a boss |
| Bosses | Large single payout | One attempt only | Unlocking an evolution right after the fight |
| Wave arenas | High total | Medium, heal pads between waves | The fastest way to reach 100 fragments |
| Secret areas | Variable | Low, one-time | Free progress you never have to farm again |
Farm Before You Fight
Enter a boss fight with a full evolution slot ready. Winning with a spare evolution in reserve turns a close fight into a smooth one.
Don't Overfarm Early
Fragments banked early do nothing. Save the grind for the moment right before you need the unlock, when every point counts.
Wave Arenas First
If a chapter offers a wave trial, do it before the boss. Three waves with heal pads between them is the best fragment-per-minute source in the game.
⚔️ ABILITY SYNERGY
Every beast has 4 unique abilities, and the way they interact matters more than any single ability. A good combination lets one ability set up the next.
Control Then Damage
Stun or slow first, then unload. A combo that ends in a damage ability after a control ability lands far harder than two damage abilities in a row.
- • Alpha Wolf puncture wound forces movement, so land damage during the DoT window
- • Forest Owl evasion buys time for a slow heavy hitter to wind up
- • Iron Bear's guard holds the line so a striker can punish
Crowd Control Pays
Fights are won on the adds, not the boss. Wolves arrive in packs and bosses summon help, so area damage quietly makes every other ability stronger.
- • Raging Bull holds area control for grouping enemies
- • Inferno Lion's AoE ultimate clears a wave before it starts
- • Venom Drake's poison keeps working while you deal with the next target
Ultimate Timing
Ultimates are not finishers you save for low health. They are crowd tools you use at the moment a pack spawns or a boss starts a telegraphed charge. Holding an ultimate until the boss is nearly dead usually means using it after the damage window has already passed.
🌿 EVOLUTION CHOICES
Your starter determines which evolutions you can reach. Choosing a path early locks you out of the others, so pick based on how you want to fight rather than which beast looks strongest.
| Starter | Builds Toward | Playstyle | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wolf | Shadow Fenrir | Speed and burst | Speedruns and solo clears |
| Bear | Iron Bear | Durability and defense | New players and hard boss attempts |
| Phoenix | Inferno Lion | Raw damage and area control | PvP and wave arenas |
⚡ BOSS PATTERN READS
🦁 Inferno Lion
- • Flame Swipe has long range, so back off further than feels necessary
- • The Roar is the tell. Attack during its cooldown, not after
- • Dodge the ultimate sideways rather than backwards
- • Save your burst for after the swipe misses
🐺 Alpha Wolf
- • The charge is preceded by a crouch, so watch the shoulders
- • It summons the pack, so clear adds before focusing the boss
- • Puncture wound is damage over time, so keep moving instead of trading
- • Area attacks handle the pack and the boss at once
🐻 Iron Bear
- • High defense means single hits feel pointless, so use combos
- • Its guard deflects frontal attacks, so flank it
- • It telegraphs a slam with a rear-up before it lands
- • Patience beats aggression, this boss punishes rushing
🦅 Storm Eagle
- • Ranged attacks pierce, so lining up behind cover does not help
- • It repositions constantly, so track rather than predict
- • Close the distance before using heavy abilities
- • Save an evasion ability for its dive
❌ MISTAKES THAT COST RUNS
- Panic dodging into a corner: back away at an angle instead, and keep your escape route open.
- Spamming the same ability: the second and third hit in a combo do far less than the first. Vary your strings.
- Ignoring the summons: most bosses are easier when the adds are gone. Kill them first and the boss becomes a normal fight.
- Bossing without the evolution: if the boss took your last attempt, farm until the evolution is unlocked before trying again.
- Standing in the fire: area attacks that ignore hits still hit you. Watch where you are standing during your own ultimate.
- Chasing one enemy across the arena: repositioning costs time and health. Fight where the pack is.
🥊 THE COMBAT DRILL
Run this five-step routine before any serious boss attempt. It fixes more failed runs than any single tip on this page.
- Clear the room first. Kill every regular enemy before you touch the boss. No exceptions.
- Learn the telegraph. Watch one full attack cycle without attacking. Most bosses have a visible wind-up.
- Pick two strings. One for the boss's recovery, one for when adds appear. Do not improvise mid-fight.
- Save the ultimate for the pack. Or for the recovery window, depending on what is happening.
- Bank fragments between fights. Every boss attempt should teach you something even when you lose.
